Here and Now

I can’t believe I’m here, on this magical Swedish island. I got goosebumps on my legs just writing that. I’ve dreamt of living here for so long, taking photos, creating art, and blogging about the island and its coastal nature. And now I’m here. My dream came true, and it still feels unreal. I don’t want to waste another second worrying about the future. I’m living here and now, simply.

*Some words from my heart, written last night*

My name is Annika Alexandra, and I'm a multidisciplinary artist and storyteller inspired by life on Sweden's beautiful west coast.

Here on my blog and YouTube channel, I share moments of my new life surrounded by farms, picturesque fishing villages, islands, and the wild North Sea.

I hope to inspire people around the world to embrace creativity and reconnect with their roots to find a deeper sense of belonging.

It is my personal belief that when we reconnect with nature and embrace the emotional healing power of art, we can begin to transcend and transform our minds and hearts to a place of peace and harmony with ourselves and each other.

After a life achieving so much on the outside world, I felt lost and empty in my inside world. Unable to deny the truth of my heart’s desire any longer, I quit my job, left behind everything that felt familiar, bought a camera, and decided the next right thing to do for myself was to move to Sweden.

In 2024, I returned to my Scandinavian roots where I embarked on what I call my creative healing journey. A journey of self discovery and personal growth through art, nature and heritage.

Today, I do what I love in the country of my ancestors and land of the Vikings. I spend my days writing, painting, photographing, and filming in this magical coastal landscape.

As an artist, I am fascinated by the human connection to the vast natural world and the mysteries and answers it holds.

I have found purpose in creatively expressing my connection to this unique and healing part of the world. I hope you feel its healing power through my creative work.
